LEAD PASTOR

Nathan became the Lead Pastor at Central Church in January of 2022. He is passionate about people discovering the goodness and glory of God and allowing that perspective to change their lives. Nathan received a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2009. Nathan and his wife Elaine came from the dusty land of Lubbock, Texas where they met at Texas Tech University. Ministry together is the theme of their marriage, serving together with youth, marriage ministries, children’s ministry, and now pastoring at Central Church. Of all their ministry activity, they take no greater joy than raising their two daughters, Clara and Julia.

WORSHIP PASTOR

Ben is a native Tennesseean and joined the Central Church team in January of 2024. Ben is an Ordained Minister and graduated from Central Bible College in 1996 with degrees in Pastoral Ministries and Music. He and his wife Tammy began full-time ministry 1 week before they got married in 1995, where over the years they have planted 4 churches, led over 18 years as Lead Pastors, and have actively ministered in worship/music ministry throughout their ministry.

From children’s to family ministry, worship leading to lead pastoring, Ben loves teaching, preaching, singing, and sharing God’s love, grace, hope, healing, and restoration to those The Lord has put in his life.

Ben and Tammy live on Hilton Head Island with their dog Benji and have 2 daughters: Moriah (17) and Haven (21 and in ministry in Jacksonville, FL with her husband Seth).

FOUNDING PASTOR

Michael Carr, as the founding pastor of Central Church, is committed to the full expression of Christ through each person who chooses to make Central Church their home. He is known for simple communication of Biblical truths that apply to everyday life. Pastor Carr is an Ordained Bishop and Graduate of Lee University, with a major in Psychology and Christian Education. He and Lou Ann, his wife, have enjoyed raising two sons, David and Jonathan, who were born and raised in Hilton Head. Over the past 35 years of serving the Hilton Head community, they have created the opportunity for people to make a life choice to become fully devoted to Christ.
